For
today's Gratitude Journal page, I’ve done some fun Halloween themes; if you don’t
celebrate Halloween, you can just use the cat border, or design your own.

What
are you feeling grateful for?
Many people around the world are celebrating Halloween, but there are lots of different occasions that people like to mark as special.
These occasions are a good time to re-connect with others and enjoy special times. What do you like to celebrate?
Nature is all around us. It can be annoying or threatening, but it can also help us to experience a sense of peace, joy and wonder.

I couldn’t resist using these cute little bees for a border, and they look so happy, as if they’re encouraging us to “bee” positive.
What
helps to keep you positive?
Whether you have pets or just appreciate animals in the wild, in a zoo or farm, or even just on TV, they can give us a range of emotions from a simple sense of comfort to wonder and amazement.

Sometimes, we make our own luck, but often fate steps in and things just go our way.
What makes you feel like a lucky person?
People, animals and plants all need the sun; it’s essential for life, so it’s worth appreciating.
Even when it’s cloudy or stormy, we know the sun is still there behind the clouds!

Poetry can powerful, from simple poems & nursery rhymes that help children enjoy the rhythms of language to poetry that helps us to visualise scenes and experiences and taps into our emotions.
Simple poems and chants can also be fun for children. When I
was teaching pre-school many years ago, my students used to enjoy “personal poems”
which incorporated their own names using alliteration or rhyming.
I have put these together in an online collection of poems
which can be used for many different names, at www.poems-for-children.webs.com.
You are welcome to use any of these poems for your personal/educational use.

It’s important to appreciate others, but also to appreciate yourself!
What are your own best qualities and achievements?

I've published this poster before, but this is a good time to offer it again:
We all need to relax, and hobbies are a wonderful way to follow our interests and enjoy leisure time.
That's the focus of today's Gratitude Journal page:
Mistakes are vital, to help us to learn (and sometimes to give us something to laugh about later).
I've published these posters in a previous post, several years ago, but they're worth adding again here:

We learn something new every day, even if it's just a new way of performing a simple task.
Just as well, otherwise how would we ever progress?

Everyone has bright ideas at times, but some turn out to be great ideas that can make our world a better place.
Which great ideas are you thankful for?

Today's Gratitude Journal page is a general one - what are you feeling thankful about?
I've done four coloured borders (or you can print in greyscale and colour or decorate as you like). Click on the picture to open the printable .pdf file:
There's something quite magical about sharing – it gives a warm feeling to the giver as well as the receiver!
Today's Gratitude Journal page is in colour or “ready-to-colour-in” (or design your own page):
Small things can give a lot of pleasure, even if it's just putting your feet up and having a cuppa after a hard day.
What small pleasures are you thankful for?
Singing, and even thinking about singing, helps our brain to relax by releasing dopamine.
So look up some favourite or new songs online (help support live musicians by buying some of their music),
dig out those old CDs you used to love to sing along to,
pick up that guitar or ukulele you've always wanted to learn (my website CathysChords.com has lots of songs, from easy 2-chord songs to more complex ones),
or just break out in song!

You don’t need to have any kind of talent to have fun dancing – just a bit of space and some music!

Whether it's a mansion or a humble cottage, there's no place like home.
Your home can be a place of comfort, relaxation, refuge, safety.
Do you have a favourite spot? What makes your home special?
